Fine 04:15
You walk my way and say you doing fine You nod your head and walk on by You know just as well as I, You’re not doing so fine Du da da du da da du You’re not doing fine Maybe We can go up to Lake Michigan Let the fresh water cleanse our skin Maybe then oh maybe then We’ll be doing fine Du da da du da da du Maybe then we’ll be doing fine We don’t need a reason to show ourselves What is really going down or what we felt That night you told me you were overwhelmed You’re not doing fine Du da da du da da du You’re not doing fine Tell me how you feel and I will let you go Tell me how you feel and mean it so Cause you’re not doing you’re not doing fine Du da da du da da du You’re not doing fine

Moonstruck 04:49
You say the grass is greener, inside your mind Girl I beg to differ, the outsides doing just fine I’ve seen that look before You’re a wolf heading for the door You’ve got those moon, You’ve got those moonstruck Eyes You’ve got those moonstruck eyes You seem to loosen up late at night Freeing all those inhibitions locked up inside Head towards those stars, and catch a ride Head for Orion's side The moon is rising up the moon is rising up The tide is taking me, The tide is taking, The tide is taking back down

Old Pine 05:55
I was born between the pines No reason to hide I was raised by wolves My mother she loved me My daddy kept to himself We lived beneath the pines Oh oh oh oh yeah set me free Oh oh oh oh yeah rescue me Oh oh oh oh yeah let me be Oh oh oh oh yeah rescue me Oh mrs Moses didn’t see me Driving so fast down 63 In my old mustang I dropped her body off near white lick creek Near where my dad went fishing last week Beneath that old pine I’m too young to go to jail Sit between those steel bars Or wear that suit of orange See that old pine It grows it grows it grows

Nora 04:56
Nora Nora watched the flames dance Off the candle by the bed Twisting and swaying deep in her mind Singing dark stories in night Stories came to life like a spark Dashed against the stone below Placed Roy in the oven deep She can’t take it no more Found him wrapped in the daily news Resting on the first rack of the stove Woody screamed ma what have you done While Nora stared blankly at the wall Nora Nora Nora spent years building A home for all to stay Birth, brick and starry nights Brains slipping through the cracks Suddenly or not so suddenly The house found the flames Nora stood in trembling quiet As the whole thing burned to the ground From the ashes rose a light An ember and in eye Don’t you worry now my dear All is good and well Nora One night Nora sang bitter songs Spirits seemed to sink Melody wrapped around her arm Whispered one last goodbye Clara stayed home from school Neighbors heard shouts and yells Yellow dress in flames, she ran And Nora stared blankly at the sky Clara was barely hanging on Felt something drop away She told Woody, to never cry He held back tears till she was gone Nora

I look at the arms of a pocket watch My grandfather gave me He told me son, you better hold it tight Or time will slip on by you. Can’t help but think we’re living on Borrowed time but I don't know where from We wander along the open road Led by light and some by love I look at this world through borrowed eyes But I don’t know where to go So hold my tremblin hand And look past the scars if you can Time will come and it will pass It’s borrowed now so hold me fast This section walks up some weird chords, bass notes listed: Borrowed world and borrowed time sorrow found within our eyes All that’s left is borrowed hands of you and I My grandfather used to take long walks On flat Mississippi soil Leaving late night or early morn He met night’s black with the day’s blue He let his sorrows drift in the breeze As he walked in step with God Making up time he left behind But dropping it on his way to the grave

Summer Rain 03:22
Last time we spoke, you had a dream in mind Wanna hit the coast, leave it all behind Leave the farm and the field, but like the summer rain You let it slip away Last time we spoke, you had a kid to feed Strawberry blonde, he looks a lot like me I heard he has a dream But like the summer rain, don’t let him slip away Last time we spoke, you hit the coast Sold your daddy’s farm, and his old barn But you said you miss the rain, the way the sun sets on the hay But like the summer rain, you let it slip away

I know it's gonna lightin' and I know it's gonna rain When I leave here, I know nothin' is gonna change When I say goodbye, yes I mean farewell I don't wanna see you on earth, and I don't want to see you in hell Going up north, where the snow hits my knees And I can do anything up there that I damn well please

We went walking on the coast of Maine You had something to say You told me I was the one You could spend the rest of your days with I'm all washed up, I'm a little out to sea If you wait for me, if you wait for me I might come to shore You went walking on the coast of Peru You needed time I couldn't give to you You told me it wasn't very far away Maybe you'd see me some sunny day I'm all washed up, I'm a little out to sea If you wait for me, if you wait for me I might come to shore We went walking on the banks of the Rio Grande You gently took my hand You told me all the things you want to do And how you found somebody new I'm all washed up, I'm a little out to sea If you wait for me, if you wait for me I might come to shore

about

Fine is inspired by how we all try to pretend to be fine whenever we are not doing well. We avoid deep connection because it is hard and awkward.
